It is the duty of every good server admin to test his own system against the most common of attacks before releasing it to the public. While the most hardcore and elite may resort to a green and black unix shell and a check list of known exploits. For those of us lacking the skill or effective motivation there is a long list of applications that can bumist in testing server Security.
AccessDiver: It is great for testing flaws in html forms and for dictionary attacks using common username and pbumword combinations. Nessus: Great for testing vulnerabilities such as improperly configured servers and susceptability to DoS attacks. Nmap: Great for port scanning PuTTY: A great shell that can be run on windows for telnet connections MilW0rm: A comprehensive library of exploits that is worth reading. AirSnort: Great for packet collection and decryption on wifi networks. These tools are great for web administrators but when used by bumholes with malicious intent who have any means of skill they can create epic results, and plenty of free pron Log in to see images!

some of my favourite netsec tools: wireshark – cross-platform network protocol analyzer scapy – excellent for interactive packet manipulation hping – packet generator, analyzer, network scanner; i use it for OS fingerprinting & va.
