My advice: get off the internet. Seriously, no wonder you’re getting bitter thoughts about humanity if you’re reading flamewars. Also, the idea of degradation of society is probably as old as any society. The very fact that humans are still out there proves that it’s not that bad. HAHAHA!~ That last line leads me to believe that you would support war as a means of population control. Make no mistake, my moral beliefs in Communism are not a teeny emo’s fad of the week. I’ve been in full support of “neo-Communism” for over 14 years and have been apart of various rallies and petitions in the Chicago-land area from anti-war to charity work for the poor. As for the religious point in my first part, I do apologize. After re-reading it, it seemed HIGHLY insensitive coming from an uneducated point of view. Religious power was a different structure and hold back then. Perhaps not as barbaric as that of the medieval ages but still just as definitive with their ABSOLUTE control. The people were poor and the Church continued to squeeze them for more financially, physically, everything… you name it. While I thought my post made it pretty clear that I do not ADVOCATE or personally believe that the slaughter of thousands is the answer for ANY condition, I do feel that I understand (to the best that I possibly can) why Lenin chose to do such. Working your bum off in a corporate environment is not a bad thing if you want your family to live in a comfortable environment, your kids to be able to go to whatever post-secondary school they’re accepted to so they may pursue the career of their choice, and your parents to be well taken-care of in their golden years… It’s greed, because you want money, but only because money is what greases the wheels of society. It’s the way things have been for centuries, I dare say a millennium or three, and doubtless it’s going to be that way for a while. Can you really call that version greed though? I would consider that more survival. When I think greed, I think more along the lines of extreme stinginess and unwillingness to part with money and yet take anything one can get. 	Defective Two Party System (USA) mary misanthrope Posted: Honestly, Amp, I identify as an anarcho-communist, and I think that anarchism or communism can work, just not on a large scale, and not without the sacrifice of some of the comforts of contemporary living. I think part of the problem is really the modern way of life that people are accustomed to. I think that communism in some form could have been successful, only the theorists who are most renowned for these theories were born after the problems of greed and abuse of power ad been in place for centuries. The fact is, you can’t rewind history. The fact that these theories were borne in the context that they were is kinda too-little-too-late. Absolutely AGREE. Communism gets a horrible rep because of Stalin.. who did everything against the laws and ideals set by his predecessor Lenin. Stalin killed more people than Nazi Germany and unfortunately they were mostly his own. Lenin killed about a hundred thousand but he only killed religious leaders and such. (something I as an atheist at least understand, though it isn’t very “human” to do such) The point is even Lenin who is considered one of the greatest Communist leaders in history (Deng Xiaoping is up there as well) had many failures among his morality and could not lead his people with a pure heart. As much as I love the idea of a true communism or even to a lesser extent anarchy (I still feel leaders need to exist), the problem is that as humanity rolls on less and less people of pure and of “strong virtue” seem to exist. No more are the day’s of righteous actions coming from the church or religious raised. No more are the day’s of a hard work ethic supported by a strong sense of family obligation.
