Digital Tax on Buying BP?So basically
A) There might not be any tax applied to certain provinces B) There’s apparently no tax on credit card transactions via paypal C) But there IS tax on paypal balance payment? D) It’s the wrong tax anyways E) On something that’s non-taxable.
I wish CZ would actually reply something though, instead of horrible trolls failing at derailing. (view post) |

My income tax was 34% last year, and I don’t even make that much right now. Add that to 12% sales tax.. If you actually had a job that paid more than McD’s does, you’d probably notice what’s going on where you’re paying taxes too.
I’m still curious why CZ is paying tax on non-taxable items. (view post) |

Digital Tax on Buying BP?I didn’t pay sales tax when I purchased Ep2, or I would have posted about it. It’s either something new, or I used one of my american accounts before =/ (view post) |

Digital Tax on Buying BP?Yeah, QC has an annoying law regarding contests and prize draws, but still not for digital items.
Regardless of Bacchus’ math fail on 9.99 * 0.05, I’m just wondering why CZ has gone for the route of charge unnecessary GST to Canadians, then pay unncessary taxes to the Cdn government.
I’m just going to change my paypal location to Botswana. (view post) |

Digital Tax on Buying BP?Er, so I came back to the game after awhile, and decided to shell out cash for Episode 3. While paying, I noticed… 5% tax for British Columbia.
It’s not much, but why on earth is this?
– Canada has no taxes on digital items. – The whole microtransaction thing is based upon the idea of donation, which by definition is not taxed. – Your Buy BP page even says that our purchase is a donation.
I mean, it’s true that you could argue that we are purchasing the service of maintaining this game from CZ rather than buying digital items and therefore Canadians need to be charged GST, but why oh why choose to give our money to the government =/ (view post) |
