It probably does for a few reasons — taking the edge off what the microphone picks up with a little reverb, volume control to keep me from blowing out the mic, giving a groove to get you into the song… But there wasn’t any pitch correction or anything like that. Forumwarz Idol: AuditionsYeah, I wondered about that, myself. I initially sent in a (crappy laptop mic recorded) version of The Rose, but since the one person offered the more professional recording of When You’re Good to Mama, I wanted to stay competitive.
It should be plenty clear by round two, though, since it’s voter-chosen and everyone does the same song, and I highly doubt a bunch of people have self-recordings of Rick Astley songs lying around :/ (view post) |

Forumwarz Idol: AuditionsWhat do you mean? I had the recording from a couple years ago (high school graduation gift for my friends) and added the “hi this is me” on the front with my crappy laptop mic a couple days ago, so that’s why the quality suddenly shifts.
It was really hard recording to a click track though; that’s why the rhythm’s off in a few places. (view post) |
