Instead of digesting gluten, the innards of my stomach get coated in it and become unable to absorb any nutrients from foods until eventually it all gets worn away. Of course, this means I get horrible stomach cramps as my guts try to force the contamination out of me as fast as they can… Sadly it doesn’t just turn straight into diarrhoea, and instead my body tries to force solid outta me at the speed of light, between that and the muscles straining, it hurts a fair bit…and then as if just to take the ing , right as it’s about to get over and I’m straining really hard because I just want to get this ing out of me, I get explosive diarrhoea. I think it’s all over…and then some more!! TL;DR:** People who don’t have Coeliac Disease just digest gluten and absorb the nutrients, whereas people with Coeliac Disease can’t, instead it coats the insides of your stomach in a layer of goo. It’s a wasting disease essentially, as if you don’t know to stop eating gluten, you insides stop being able to absorb any goodness from your food, and even though you’re eating you starve to death.
