Bashy Bashers? Fix Itembuildr Tattoo?Samildanach Posted:
But some of us voted for it because we thought it was well-written and funny. I don’t actualy have any issue with Bashy winning loads at all. I like most of his forum ideas hence I voted for them. Whether pulling it or not was the right call, I don’t know. But I see the logic behind it just fine, and if JB thinks it’s a go-nowhere idea, I can trust his judgment, because he’s done work that convinces me he has a good sense of humor. Sometimes forums win I don’t find funny. But what you’re saying here I don’t really have a problem with. JB vetoed it because it didn’t suit his personal sense of humour. And he gets the power to do that because he works for CZ and hence can stamp his personal preferences on the game. Fine. Can we just stop pretending there’s any more to it than that. (view post) |

How many new players are going to get most of the references though? The enemy names alone are going to draw a complete blank with them. So the only real difference is that it’s jokes about one “famous” player as opposed to several. It’s equally exclusionary either way. (view post) |

As I said in the other thread though, what’s the difference between this and Battlethreadz ThreadConstructr v3.0 Gamma?
I’m not one of the people who’s all outraged over this decision, merely slightly puzzled by it. Because, it might have been a joke forum, but in my view it was actually a well written one.
I think the worry about buildr scores is overblown as well. It’s going to affect most of us who submit forum ideas regularly, so everyone’s in the same boat. It’ll just lead to slightly fewer submissions while people build their scores back up. (And yes, I’m one of the people who’s going to be hit reasonably hard by this). (view post) |

Let's not vote in an Anti-Bashy Forum, kay?CoreyJess Posted: I’m not sure it makes a difference either way. I can’t see anybody going “well, I was going to play Forumwarz but now there’s an inside joke forum I shall not!” And if we’re going to say injokes are bad, what about Battlethreadz ThreadConstructr v3.0 Gamma? That’s an official forum and it’s nothing but injokes, no?
*Shrugs*
I’m not fussed either way. I downvoted Fran Is Fat because I didn’t feel there was much humourous potential to be gained. I upvoted this because I actually think it could be amusing. Same as I do every week.
Not everything is a conspiracy.
But, then again, I don’t actually care if it’s deleted either. Actually, stick one of my minus five submissions in instead. In that case deletion has my unconditional support. (view post) |

No it isn’t. At least not in the context of game theory, which is obviously what applies here. By allowing for more possible winning strategies to be used (which an element of uncertainty would do), it becomes more strategic.
Although less tactical.

Personally I’d like it if it always ended at a random time instead of just having that as a theme week. It makes it more strategic. (view post) |

Once again...Invariel Posted: That’s fine in theory, but it doesn’t address the real problem of downvoting abuse. Unless that’s rectified, anything else is a side issue. Because I really don’t believe that every single item submission has been ****ty, not once but repeatedly.
The problem exists in Forumbuildr as well. The only difference is that the higher volume of submissions means it’s less stark. (view post) |

Once again...Dunatis Posted: Yep and I’d extend it to Forumbuildr. I would have once been against it, but I can’t see how it could be any worse than the current situation.
(My favoured option would be for CZ to start monitoring excessive downvoting and actively punishing the culprits. But that seems increasingly unlikely to happen as time goes on). (view post) |

Forumbuildr voting system questionThink lowest common denominator at all times.
Obscure jokes about philosophers that appeal to pseudo intellectuals- Bad.
Obvious jokes about sex that appeal to 14 year old virgins- Good. (view post) |

Are there any players with every single Buildr peen?Shii Posted:
Half the potential gain once people hit 10 buildr score. Quarter it when they hit 20. The problem is at the moment that it’s actually easier for people to gain buildr at the top end then it is when starting out. Simply because of the sheer number of submissions you get. (view post) |
