dear starfang 42Well, this has been a refreshing discussion in an interesting area, and I hope we can both walk away from this with our minds a little broader. (view post) |

dear starfang 42Ah, but to say what something is is also to say what it can not be. To say a sparrow is a bird is to say it cannot be a fish. Now, the way we see things now, this is true, but it is indeed a limit. (view post) |

What do you do to feel better?I have long philosophical debates, or failing that, tear a proverbial strip off of the first person I find that attempts to offed my sensibilities.
Considering you can do neither. I recommend killing yourself (view post) |

dear starfang 42That’s what I see as a problem. Both science and religion seek to explain things one doesn’t understand, to put them in a box, or a category. They are both useful and helpful in their own rights. Science creates technology and religion creates law. At the same time, however, the thing about our world around us, our “reality”, is when you limit it, you limit your ability to truly understand it. (view post) |

Why is the Troll basically the weakest clbum? The low attack stems from others not taking trolls seriously, usually.
That said, I don’t see how Emo kids and Camwhores are any different. The greater majority of the ‘Net population doesn’t take them seriously, and well they shouldn’t. (view post) |

The power of a hijack.
Starfang, I’m not Christian. I believe Jesus lived, taught, and even did the things the Bible claims he did, but I believe that his power did not come from any divinity. He taught that faith can do many wondrous things, and I believe that, and I believe that is how he performed those miracles, through faith in his ability to do so. Perhaps one day we will be able to see past the confines of modern science and be able to do things never before thought possible. Until then, I will theorize. (view post) |

I miss summer!Meh, I’ll get in on this discussion:
I have olive-toned skin, and thus tan really easy, but mine just burns. After a couple of days, my skin looks like theirs, and stays like that for about 6 months. It’s melanoma-tastic.
No homo. (view post) |

dear starfang 42There are a lot of things that science as we know it can’t explain. I leave it to an enlightenment and a freedom from the belief that all things are limited. (view post) |

At the same time, there is a consciousness about nature and life in general, which allows that tree to be and to fall. Either that, or the collective minds of the people have established that trees exist, and they fall. Of course, if one’s mind were free of the limitations of the collective consciousness, they could indeed break the bonds of what we call physics. Take, for example, Jesus. bumuming he did exist, and he performed the miracles he did, he did so by freeing his mind of the limits of the norm. Through sheer blind doubtless faith, he walked on water and spontaneously created bread and fish. (view post) |
