Now some people — and I fear this may come up down the line — some people subscribe to the train of thought the trilogy became progressively worse, i.e. regarding the third film as a Hollywoodized bastard child in the series. Now, this is, in part, based on truth.
It indeed ventured from it’s humble indie roots… DOWN THE FAST TRACK OF ****ING AWESOME!
One need not look farther than Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead trilogy to find a film series that followed the same formula:
1. Good, albeit underdeveloped film yet to realize its potential 2. Better film 3. Super charged, genre-expanding, cinematic orgasm
It’s evident as long as you rightly view each film as it’s own separate entity. Anyone who says otherwise has some kind a bias towards orthodoxy, and those are the kind of people who habitually go to bed at 9:00 on a weeknight. Not the kind of crowd you want to lay stake in, believe you me Log in to see images! |
