For some of us, our pets ARE our children. I’m middle aged and have chosen not to have kids, so I have a cat and a fish.

I’ve been through the situation of choosing between my health and my cat’s health in the past.

The last time I had a cat die suddenly, it was very depressing since he and I had been psychically connected, and I might have cut back on some online activities.

I’ve avoided reading this thread until this evening, since I knew if someone asked for pet advice here, it probably wasn’t good. Too sad that it came too late.
