Level 35 Camwhore

“Legs Wide Open”

This is a poem I wrote when I lost someone very dear to me:
——————————————-

I did not wish for time to pbum
For it to flow, for it to crash
I did not wish for life to bend
around the roots of knotted elm

I never saw the glowing sun
Arise from crystal sapphire sky
I never saw the glowing sun
Or watched the quiet sparrow hunt.

But somewhere in the murky past
Somehow subtly, somehow fast
The sands of time did fall right through
Fell right on through my clutching grasp

And now I sit here wondering how
The bells could ring and I allow
The snow could melt, the leaves could fall,
Decaying, drifting from the bough

A journeyman once said to me
That life not cherished fades away
If only I had listened then
If only I had listened then

I did not wish for time to pbum
But pbum it did, and pbum it has
And all that’s left is walking on
Beneath the foreign sun and moon

Perhaps one day we’ll meet again
Perhaps the pathway will make sense
But likely everything will end
And likely grow and likely mend.

Then so, my weary lonely friend
Think not of why or how or when
Think only of the past we hold
The love we feel, the smiles of old

And walk again and watch anon
And keep on marching to the dawn
And hunt with sparrows, old and young
And wait for me where we belong
