Without seeing the actual code for how it works, you’re making an educated guess. You may be 100% sure, but I don’t think you’re right. There are also other possible scenarios: you can increase your buildr score by 2 even if you don’t get anything in the forum at all. You can increase it by 1 if you get nothing in the forum. This can happen regardless of whether your dead entries got any upvotes. In my experience, it depends on your ratio of upvotes to downvotes. I would bet that an average score is calculated each week and that your score increase depends on how far away from the mean you are (modified by whether you get anything into the forum).

You can get +2 without getting anything into the forum? I’ve never seen that happen and I’ve not heard of it happening, but if it does then I don’t know how to explain it.

As far as the +1, you get that by virtue of just submitting something that doesn’t get downvoted to -5 without any upvotes.
