Canada legalized marijuana. I think that has more to do with their crime rate and lack of political uprising than the four party system does. Not to mention they aren’t in the middle of Vietnam-esque war and everyone gets free health care.

Volunteering may work for you, but it doesn’t work for everyone due to time constraints or their pbumions (people who want to save the rain forests would probably have a hard time trying to get down there to hug the trees.) And unfortunately, you are right about a lot of charities being scams. That’s why you do your homework before donating. I, personally, will only donate to charities that use 15% (preferably 10% but there aren’t many of those) or less of their income for something other than their main purpose.
