I think the correct solution in this case is to not publish the item.

I mean, is anybody going to miss not getting another itembuildr piercing? If people strongly dislike all of the ideas, why bother making the item at all?

People apparently did not like the *images.* The voters, however, already selected the item itself, and it seems so far as if it’ll get text, too.

With that in mind, I don’t see reason to throw the entire item away simply because an image wasn’t selected. I’m sure one of the adminny types can simply go through the last 10 or so images submitted, do a quick skim to see if any are or may be copyrighted, and select whatever the hell he wants in such a situation.

That way, the author of the item idea and text, as well as the effort and opinion of their respective voters, aren’t simply tossed for lack of a tiny little image.
