you mean something like y = -x/2 + 1?

Take a peek at http://www.coolmath.com/graphit/index.html

Not sure what good + 1 does you there. You’d want y ~= -x/2 + 50 if you wanted to approximate that graph. The problem is – finding the slope isn’t real useful. The amount of extra damage you do is based on your offense as well as you ego, so the slope will be different for each different offense value.

—— Quick Algebra Lesson ——

If you have a graph that is linear (straight line) the easiest way to represent that is y = mx + b. m is the slope and b is the y intercept – the y value where the line crosses the y axis.

The slope is the change in y over the change in x for some interval. Just pick one and solve. In this case I’ll use the whole graph. At point1, x = 0, y = 45. At point2 x = 100, y = 0. So – to find m:

    point2y - point1y    0 - 45     -45
m = ----------------- = -------- = ----- = -.45
    point2x - point1x   100 - 0     100

b is just the y value when x is zero – so 45.

So to describe you graph, you can use y = mx + b, or y = -.45x + 45.
