emo is an external aesthetic perpetrated by whiny teenagers against a society that doesnt respect the smallness of their petty problems

you have to dress a certain way and act a certain way and generally fall into a very specific box all the while claiming to be an individual

that is why i am not emo

i have no desire to be a part of that self perpetuating stereotype

my worries are of a larger scale dealing more with the fact we are dirty self interested animals trying desperately to survive and screwing ourselves over in the process

some of you may have heard of the prisoners dilemma

its like that

and if we try to be selfless ultimately we will be dragged back into the reality of our selfishness

as i was lurking in idc earlier someone mentioned a user on here called philanthropist

well it occurred to me that philanthropists are the biggest sort of tool there is because they pretend to be magnanimous while theyre really just looking for an ego boost

the idea of philanthropy is wonderful

the idea of a philanthropist is lame

returning from this momentary digression

what im really trying to say here is

i am not emo because i dont care about

all of lifes countless small disappointments

its just the futility of trying to change the big things

that really gets me down

there will always be war

there will always be poverty

people will always be looking out for themselves first and foremost

and anyone who says otherwise is trying to sell you something

so just remember that next time you come across the crbum charlatans of christianity peddling peace and love and their messianic age

i dont want children anyway

i wouldnt inflict the world upon them
