Another time I would have thought that all

Celebrities would represent mankind.

Their lives would serve to be what we could not,

But still their faces would reflect our own.

However, now, we know that’s not the case.

Their money’s made through mast’batory means.

We trust the ones whose breasts will bounce just so.

And all of those whose biceps break their sleeves.

Their chins must cut at angles so and so.

Their teeth must glean to challenge every sun.

And if a single hair is out of place.

Then we will write them off as wannabes.

So now I wonder if the man’s to blame.

If sex will truly sell no matter what.

Or if we’ve tuned our brains to think it does

By forcing pretty people on the screen.
