The images in Forumwarz come from a lot of sources. We were extra careful to make sure we had the rights to display them on our web site even though we’re showing ads and stuff. In some cases like the 404 page, we actually attribute rights to people for creative commons.
Generally the images are: bought from stock image sites, originals we took / designed (like the turtle), images that are in the public domain or commissioned from artists.
