as always history repeats itself on forumwarz; despite all the reminiscing of olden days and drama past, nobody learns from it especially those for whom it is most relevant.

because clearly the rules have been worked into flawless gems that apply to every situation conceivable here. what’s more, the community doesnt evolve or change over time so the rules should be blindly enforced and no further action taken other than absurd discussions over those rules while the minor problems that bring the rules and their enforcement into question plague the site and drive more and more users away.

yep, the history of this community doesnt have any evidence to support such preposterous things.

i am happy to have taken that ban because it meant you finally caught on that certain actions, while not explicitly prohibited, harm the community and are worthy of moderation.

here is the summary:

Admins: “We want this to be troll-friendly”

Mods: “we’ll do what we can”

Players: “this person you just banned is nice”

Mods: “we’ll ban fewer people”

Players: “we hate this person”

Mods: “you just asked us to ban fewer people.”

Players: “but but but but but”

So the mods bumumed that we meant “ban less people” when we said “don’t ban cool people”? Makes sense since I said “I know that it’s not a bannable offense but something needs to be done” regarding the thread spamming and the mods actually thought it meant “ban people who spam threads”. Would make sense that mods misunderstand what people say completely.

In other words, ban the people you don’t like, but don’t ban the people you do like.
