If god existed, we’d see some evidence – some **** that we couldn’t explain except by divine intervention. We don’t see anything like that, so god’s either not there or he’s sitting on his hands and refusing to do anything. There’s no way to tell the difference between those two options so the sensible conclusion is the one that doesn’t have the big supernatural elephant in the room.
