Why can't we vandalize admin/mod wiki pages? | |||||||

Site rules Posted:
I can understand this rule for game-related pages, as they’re linked to by the game throughout the site (like the epeen or the BBCode cheat sheet pages), but moderator pages aren’t linked to from anywhere else on this site, as far as I can tell. It seems like it’s just to prevent vandalism that all other users have to deal with on their personal pages, which is kinda silly.
So why can’t I edit Cid’s page into goatse? |

Makes no sense. Seems like it’s only for vanity. If it’s an extension of the whole libel rule, I can only say that people won’t look for your accurate information here Log in to see images! |

If I didn’t vandalize JB’s article about a year ago this would never became a rule. Log in to see images! Agreeing that it’s a bull**** rule and that should be removed. The only wiki articles that shouldn’t be vandalized are the game-related ones. The mods/admins pages only contain nonsense anyway. |

I think that rule is good and necessary. Wiki is great ressource for information and vandalism should NOT be tolerated. Administrators and Moderators are crucial parts of Crotch Zombie Productions world, therefore it is important in terms of Corporate Communications that their Wiki pages only contain useful and true information. It would be very harmful to Forumwarz newcomer to find offensive material directly linked to creators.
In my opinion, Wiki pages should include formal CV and pbumport-like photo (to give people behind Forumwarz a “face” ). ¦] Oleg edited this message on 02/11/2010 4:48PM |

What definition of vandalism are we using here? Blanking the page style vandalism or bearing false witness in the interest of humour? |

Ricket Posted: Honestly? I think only Admin pages should be ‘protected’. My page had been vandalized for a few months before I even noticed.

Maybe it should just be changed to “Do not vandalize any game-related page of the Wiki. This includes the profile page of Jalapeno Bootyhole” as he’s apparently the one who can’t deal with wiki vandalism. Log in to see images! |

Vandalizing is too much work imo. Much easier to just revert to something else. |

Yeah, but I guess reverting counts as vandalism, too. |

Simple. Because we have no way of protecting pages. And mods’ pages would normally be protected.
Let’s say a newbie comes around (and they exist, trust me) and wants to learn a bit more about their friendly neighborhood mod. They look them up and see some clever vandalism like LOL fabulous person LOL has been imposed. They think to themselves that chaos clearly reigns supreme in this place if mods can’t even protect their own pagtes.
Do we want new players to believe that chaos reigns supreme in this place? No. No, we most certainly do not.
tl;dr: Remember folks: We can’t have ANY FUN on FWZ.

Simple solution: vandalise the mod’s page so that it retains the bull**** about not vandalising said page. Then enquiring newbies can learn that JB is, in fact, LOL fabulous person LOL, *and* that they’re not supposed to vandalise it themselves. Cream edited this message on 02/11/2010 11:55PM |
