Hi guys, I’ve just returned to forumwarz after being away for something like a year, and i was wondering: How do i beat the “Ad hom(something)” which drains my ego? Is there an item to remove it, or do i just need a ****load of ego? It really seems a bit too strong, since i went from easily pwning forums without losing much more than 20% of my ego, to not even being able to pwn half the threads in a forum, just from jumping one difficulty level.

Have you played much of Ep3 yet, attacking forums that are too high a level for you?

I’ve discovered that using some of these has greatly reduced by frustration at being hit by things I don’t like hitting me.

In the EP3 beta test, I bought 100 surge protectors.

I don’t attack forums more than two levels above me, because I prefer fights that are a bit more even. If you’re regularly pwning forums at higher levels, I can see why they might be useful, but at that point I find that you’re burning through consumables, regardless. If I were a bit more ambitious while playing, I might have a use for them, but I’m not a huge fan of tedious wars of attrition (hence no permanoob or re-re alt).

Sometimes I go for one 3 above to advance the story. Usually I’m hitting 2 above. And I find that sometimes they surprise me by removing my ability to attack for 6 turns, and then beat on me for >1200 points. I don’t like that. Log in to see images!

Packet Loss hurts Re-Re pretty badly. Since all of our attacks are long refresh, it almost doubles the wait, during which the forums pound harder.

It’s weird, when I was in the Level 30’s I couldn’t pwn a forum more than one level above me, and at Level 35 without consumables I’d still die in forums like Video Game Cheaters that were weak to my attacks.

But in Episode III, I’m regularly pwning forums 3 – 5 levels above my own. For sure I pwned GPCC at Level 39, without consumables.
