As you can see both Tubsweetie and Aldo posted in said thread hours before the ban. Then suddenly BAM there’s a ban. I and many others enjoyed this contest, and although a little silly true, I feel it does fit within the rules for the contest forum.

Does this seriously warrant a SIX DAY BAN? At the least you could have just moved it. With the forum as dead as it is currently should we really be so heavy handed?

bans are great timesulative and dont have to happen right away. there’s a little thing called deliberation that happens sometimes

This isn’t a personal attack Tubs, I feel that he legitimately broke no rule.

Just because you don’t think something is ‘valuable’ doesn’t mean that others don’t. Perhaps this needs to be more well defined?

Also I would like to request what the official ruling was on this, since there was apparently debate on it, eh?

This isn’t about the mod or the user, it’s about the rule and how it’s being interpreted. Can we please keep this thread on topic?

This is a ridiculous ban. No, it did not offer BPs, but the rules clearly imply that BPs are not in fact needed unless the user expects to get the Big Give peen.

It is too bad that some people don’t see the value of the prize, but clearly others did. The following people thought the prize that was being offered held enough value to take the time to enter the contest before it was moved.

I would have entered as well. Hell, I slammed my alts through another contest with a non-BP prize recently as I thought it was the single best prize I’d ever seen offered on the site.

Is there a legitimate reason that things have gone back to a ban first, make up rules later?

Honestly, I haven’t been a fan of any of the instances where that has happened and I know I’ve been vocal about it both publicly and in the rules forum. I do understand that there have been times when it has been a “site safety” issue (the MST mails costing money and instances of things possibly considered CP.) So what “site safety” emergency was this contest creating?
