I downloaded “flash offliner” which let’s you download and play flash game SWF’s on your comp offline I might be w/ out internet for a while. Problem is, the flash games that normally have a save function (as in saving your progress in the middle of a game) don’t seem to be able to save offline. Is there a way to do that? Can you save the game progress of an offline flash game?

I’m not too sure about this, but the save data (at least from what I’ve seen) is stored locally on your computer, likely in a folder bumociated with the browser.
You could try

Is there a particular reason you aren’t simply doing this, CS? I don’t see why anything more complicated would be necessary. |

Damn, I didn’t realize it was as simple as opening the SWF with a browser! I just googled “play flashgames offline” and bumumed it was as complicated as they made it out to be. This thing makes a .fop (flash offline playable?) out of the .swf and plays the .fop like some kind of emulator. It’s kinda handy having it all together like that though, if not a little bum-backwards.
Actually, since posting the OP, I tried another game and I was able to save it (Commando 2). I’ll try running the one that didn’t save (Zombie Exploder) in the browser and see what it does, otherwise oh well I guess.
Note: If you try to download SWF’s off of miniclip.com they won’t work right. If you get the exact same miniclip games from another site they will though. You can directly download a lot off of http://www.allflashnow.com/ and you don’t got to mess with Orbit or Firefox page info or any of that crap. |
