It’s midnight here and it took enormous socializing effort from me to convince my neighbours not calling the police for breaking the night silence with stupid laughter upon watching the above mentioned sitcom.

Now, dear /fwz/, tell me, could the fact that I’m terribly amused with this movie (as well as the fact that I am two years late) be considered a deplorable diagnosis?

What was the movie about?

It’s a superb sitcom, I love it. The main cast made an appearance at the Emmy Awards and Sheldon was even nominated this year.

How solid is the physics talk? Or is it not even a focus?

Oh yeah, it’s real. They also have a full-time science consultant to make sure that it’s accurate. For the record, I never got into the really high level quantum stuff that appears here and there. My field was astrophysics, same as Raj. Then the economy bottomed out after Sept. 11th, all the grant money went away, and I became a teacher instead.

But it’s all good. Besides, Dr. George Smoot guest appearance for the win!

I watched the pilot and like 10 minutes of the second episode, and I can’t stand this show.

There’s not a huge amount of actual hard science in the show, but what they do put on-screen they seem to take great care to be accurate with (I hear they spent a fair bit of time in consultation with real physicists for stuff to put on their whiteboards in the background of scenes)
