After all the posting that has been done about the topic here in the past few days, something has actually been done about it and we now have community bans. AWESOME. GOOD JOB. I’m surprised nobody has started a topic on this yet, though, as I have a few questions.
1. How exactly does a Comm Ban work? Is it a ban on the whole account, or just the offending character? 2. Was it intended that the banned player could not see the name of the mod/admin who banned him/her? 3. When Comm Banned, why do some players have no “banned” banner on their profiles to let people know that they are Comm Banned? 4. Also, I was temporarily banned tonight for some weird reason (ask Aldo, lol) and while banned I was able to still SEE Flamebate- I just couldn’t post in IDC (and didn’t get the chance to try posting on a thread). Was this intended? |

I figured ET would post about this but I’ll take the initiative. Fingerz Posted:
1) you get banned, it shows up on your character profile (only the character which earned the ban [i think]) and it should apply account wide. 2) I guess. it might be a programming oversight. There’s still a couple things ET should add, this may be one of them. 3) the banner only appears on the character that earned the ban. That must be why, or it’s a bug. 4) yes, you can still see flamebate and stuff. One of the things to add is a banner in YOUR flamebate that says you’re banned so it’s less of a surprise.
To those who were banned already, did it notify you? One of the immediate suggestions was to get it to notify you like when you get hit with a dom card. |

How do you earn a ban from the game then? Is there such a thing anymore?
If I ever do anything banworthy, can you just ban me from playing forumwarz and leave flamebate available? Thanks in advance. |

I dont’ see the point in complaining about that because when you get banned you shouldn’t be allowed to ‘oh hold on let me finish this post first’. Yours wasn’t a legit ban but on the most part they are legit so it’s a non-issue imo.

Post cp, hack the site, illegal alts, wiki vandalism, that sort of thing. Look in the rules KB then see everything that isn’t FLAMEBATE or CHAT rules. No. it doesn’t work that way.

Undecided. One camp thinks it’d be good to boot people from the site if they constantly **** up flamebate, the other camp thinks they are seperate enough to not have bans carry over into game territory. That will be decided on in the future.

How can you get a temporary full ban? What infraction would cause this sort of ban? Because it looks like there are still just 2 bans, 1 is called community ban and lets you keep playing and is temporary and the other is Permaban and it is permanant and account wide.
If thats the case whats the point of renaming temporary bans to community bans, why not just change the way they function.
If i’m wrong and there are 3 or more kinds of bans let me know the difference.
1) community ban for trolling or things like that in flamebate 2) perma ban for multipe offense or major offense 3) temp. full ban for ????? its a mystery and im trying to solve this. |
