I’m curious. For what reason do the users of this site browse or use flamebait? I’ve come up with five options off the top of my head that would make sense to me. I ask that when you vote, you pick the option that’s most relevant to you; I suspect that for many of us, it’s a combination of these.
I don’t think this should really be considered a serious poll, but I do think this might give us an interesting insight into the way this site operates. |

I voted the community option though that isn’t as appealing as it used to be. back when RPing was prevalent the community was much tighter and appealing.
It’s still cool but the vortex of awesome in the bottom of the sink has slowed down. It’s still there, just nowhere near as powerful.
I have RP alts I’d like to resurrect but all efforts at being fun get shot down by the trolls and it’s just not worth it anymore.
Also I dont have anywhere better to hang out online. And I’m a mod here so I can stroke my ego with that. |

I voted community, because it’s the closest to my answer.
The only reason I felt odd about voting for it is that as a mostly lurker, community seems a bit strong of a word for me to use, but yeah. It amuses me and I like it.
That being said, I don’t go to RP because it annoys me. CD’s cool though. |

Well, not just because I’m supposed to moderate it, but because I like the community, in general. I think it’s gotten kind of stale around here lately, but I think that’s just the natural ebb & flow. |

Voted RPing in the poll. Flamebate is a fun place to drop in for a few minutes a day, that or idling in IDC for a while. There are some funny posters, a few good threads, and plenty of good arguments to get involved in. Also the freedom of joking around while using another persona, so that anything you say is one step removed from your actual life. |

I’ve been browsing Flamebate since (at latest) may ‘08… yet I only have about ~300 posts.
I find a lot of you people* absolutely ****ing hilarious, despite the majority of you being ****ing very special. I spend a good 3 hours a day reading through Flamebate threads old and new, they are just great.
*You people is referring to the personas RP’ed by the users, and not the users themselves. |
