We are not stretching the truth, we aren’t talking about backyard sticks, we are talking about crafted staffs, what you are doing would be the same as someone saying a mace is a bad weapon because holding a palm sized rock in their hands and hitting people with it (without throwing it) isn’t an improvement over, say, brbum knuckles. Their is a difference between a stick and a staff made to be a weapon. A big one.

Yeah but, a stick is a stick.

Wrong, A staff is in no way, shape, or form comparable to a stick other than the fact that it is made of wood. Sticks aren’t even usually straight. That’s like saying a Ferrari shouldn’t cost more than a Toyota because a car is a car. There is a big difference. No one says that cellphones are useless because you already have a house phone anymore, so don’t say a staff is a stick.

Indeed.

Speaking as someone who has trained for four years in tai chi chuan with both swords and staffs, in an actual fight I’d pick the staff in a heartbeat. A quick smack in the balls puts an end to almost any fight right away.

And back to the original topic…Donatello. Always Donatello. What can I say…I always liked the smart guys.
