I’ve gotten -1’s a few times, when I was submitting forum ideas. Every time it happened to me, it was because I had far more -5’s with no upvotes than I did submissions that made it into the forum.

Try not to attribute the reason, just try to give the information. E.G., how many -5s, how many were tanked with no upvotes, and how many submissions that made it, preferably with what ratios of up to down votes for submissions… it’s hard to spot the pattern if everyone just includes the info that supports their own theory and ignores the rest.

What was the result on your score? -1 or -2?

If you don’t submit anything all week, an easy way to increase your score by +1 is to simply make a bunch of submissions before the end. As long as you remain in the positive (even if each has only your 1 upvote), my experience is that your score will increase by +1.

P much the same here, from the other week. Part of why I think it’s easier to get a bump when you want it than accidentally get a decrease (short of things like last week’s mbumive downvote spree on forum ideas), and part of why I think score calculations, or at least submission counts, need some tweaking.

If you really want to figure out the algorithm, I think it would be better to keep track of your results from this point forward rather than try to recreate what happened in the past.

Actually, that’s exactly what I was thinking after I stepped away. Ideally, the results of several people. Like I said, I’ve never gotten less than a +1, and I’m not planning to tank my score, so I’m not sure I can use my own data effectively. I think I’ll start a thread for it.

Yes you did go down by 1 and since I had 10 submissions tank due to the whole Bashy Forum debacle I expected the same and was shocked to see it go up by 2 again. Thinking of it as a ratio is probably the most accurate means of figuring it out and like Samildanach said, if we could get enough people willing to actually count up vs downvotes in the last minutes of the week and find out some ratios that would be quite useful.

Or if ET could save us all the trouble and just tell us Log in to see images!

For the record, I’ll probably start a thread on Friday for people to track their results on Sunday. I think it would be useful for those of us who want to **** about buildr to know exactly what we’re ****ing about. Log in to see images!

I have intentionally decreased my buildr score in the past, simply by submitting enemies and watching them tank and then not submitting anything else.

ITT: very extensive evidence that buildr score needs a serious rethink.

Submitted 3 entries this week. 1 made it in, 2 made it negative (I don’t think to -5 but of course there’s no way to check unless you happen to be online right before end of round).

Score +1.

I’m pretty sure my buildr score was 6 last week, but I only had 10 submissions available. This week, I have a buildr of 5, but I had 12 submissions. Of my submissions from last week, about 8 got to -5, three of which didn’t even get a +5. However, I had one thread that got into the forum, and I got 500 Flezz for it.

I don’t know what’s going on anymore…

I had 16 subs this week. 2 hit rock bottom. 12 positive, 1 zero, 1 at -1.

3 got into the forum, so I got 1,500.

+10 / +8 / +7 / +5 / +5 / +2 / +2 / +2 / +1 / +1 / +1 / +1 / +0 / -1 / -5 / -5

Score: +2
