Nevermind, just got to the end of the ‘L’s.

Want to try merging?

I think I have some of the missing pictures on your end, such as the ones originally called Army, Army 2.

Between us we should have the full list of changes to be made… not sure how easy the 2 lists will be to combine.

Try copying and pasting yours to a Tubmail and see if it ****s everything up… if it’s not workable then we’ll have to go to email or something.

We were supposed to do a list of changes?

I went ahead and reordered and posted the pictures that I did into the entry…

Oh well, that’ll be why you took longer… there was no need for a change list I just felt like taking a longer route.

Means we won’t have simul-edit problems, if you make the changes now then I’ll do the rest from my list.

Army and Army 2 became Soldier w/ Cap and Soldier Smiling. I’m pretty sure that the pictures for “Rusty Chains”, “Puppy 1” and “Portrait (Poet 2)” on forumbuildr aren’t on the wiki page. Or weren’t when I was looking for them.

Also odd: Just after “Emo kid w/ Hoodie” on the wiki page is the text “Enter bumon” on it’s own without any accompanying picture or tags or anything.

Changes made, ordering sorted, checked through the list of names against forumbuildr. Don’t know for absolute certain whether all the pictures are with the right names, but all the names are there and in the right order, and all the pictures I did see (call it a random sample, 1 per however many fit on a screen at once from the wiki page) were correct.

I think this wiki page is done and up to date. Log in to see images!

I knew I’d learned something useful from making my useless replication of the ‘moar files sortable by attribute’ page (didn’t know it existed before I made my own), namely how to manipulate large wiki-formatted tables by combination use of spreadsheets and text editors.

To make sure everything was sorted into order my process was to dump it all into a spreadsheet, write a lookup formula and duplicate it (and slightly modified versions thereof) onto 4 columns and several hundred lines to get everything in place – one table row at a time.

Copy that to notepad and back to remove the formulaic part and just keep the text, so it could then be sorted by one column. To get it back onto individual rows I copied it from the spreadsheet to Word (which replaces column breaks with tabs) then did Find+Replace to put in a newline for each tab, putting everything back onto individual lines like the wiki likes it.

I maintain that this was far easier than going through by hand. YMMV

Genius. I went through looking at the dropdown list one by one, reordering/renaming the avatars. Sometimes the new names made some out of order, so I copied the image location from the dropdown’s preview, searched for it in the article, then renamed and moved the entire code to its correct place.
