The movie had ample opportunities to be smart and thoughtful, and ultimately opted not to capitalize on any of them in lieu of another opportunity to blow things…It was a fun couple of hours.

I’m actually kind of glad that they went with action over brains. The franchise needed a kick in the bum after the last few duds. If they would have made another intellectual flop, we might not see another film in the series for a long time.

“Human Yeast Infection”

Star Trek is a very fun movie. It’s not deep, it’s not provocative, but it suspends disbelief rather well for it’s two hours and change. I’m looking forward to the sequel.

You know… I could go on for hours about this film— in all the bad ways and good ways imaginable.

I will say this though:

everyone I’ve spoken to really liked the film.
