So I made a new Steam Account today (first one, woo!) and bought the Orange Box thing that’s on sale for the weekend.
I entered in my debit card number, sale went through, got my confirmation e-mail in my inbox that the sale was good and that I should just go to the My Games tab in my Steam thingy to start the download.
This was 7 hours ago. My Games still claims I have not purchased any games for downloading and just had a link to the store.
What do I do? I tried restarting the thing to see if the Orange Box would be available for download upon restart.
Still nothing. |

I already looked through there and none of the FAQs mentioned my problem. I submitted a ticket but I’m tired of waiting for a response. Plus, I figured you guys here are much more technically gifted than me, so if there was a chance it was my error you could help me out without having to wait for a ticket to be responded too. |

you bought it through steam while logged into your account right?
maybe something ****ed up. Steam is good with customer support though. Did it give you a cd key?
I haven’t bought a valve game on steam in a while so I can’t remember |

Well, I noticed that the account I made when I downloaded and installed the Steam client was not the same as the one I purchased the Orange Box with, so I was fairly sure I had discovered the issue. I logged out of the Steam client and logged in with “arandomwolf,” the account I purchased the Orange Box with, went to My Games, but it was still empty.
Now I’m REALLY confused. |

well didn’t you say you bought it on a different steam account or something. your post above reads like you have two accounts or made a new account for the orange box. that would be the problem if so.
you only need one account for steam.
otherwise i dunno what’s going on. we aren’t steam employees :/ |

usually, when you buy a game , they give you a screen, and tell you to print it out, and save it, on there it has the transaction details, the code, the date, the price, what you bought, and what account you bought it under
otherwise, just wait for your ticket to come up, and they should help you, it really shouldnt take long, |

Not sure what the problem is, when I bought it it showed up as soon as I payed.
Did you buy it through a external browser(IE, Firefox, Chrome, ECT) or through the browser built into the steam client? |

I did make two accounts, but I made sure to sign into the account that I bought the game on.
And I know you’re not Steam employees Tubs, but I’m incredibly stupid when it comes to technology stuff so typically it’s been an error on my part.
I have the confirmation e-mail with all the info on it in my inbox. |

close stem completely then go into the steam folder and delete the file ‘clientregistry.blob’ then open steam and log in with the right account.
that’s the only thing i know to do when it screws up |

The Steam Folder only has the application and the Steam Support thing in it. I don’t know where client registry is. ;-; Why am I so helpless with technology… |
