I too have a 1280x800 screen resolution, but it doesn’t bother me. See this screenshot. While I would love to have some of the space on the right used, the Twitter update box is not annoying, and is in fact helpful. It keeps me from having to go to the blog/twitter to see if there have been any updates, since I usually remember the last one. If there is a new update, I will go to the twitter page, to see if I missed any more.

One thing I would love to see changed, though, is the address the title points to. Maybe have “The Latest Forumwarz News on Twitter” point to the main twitter page, and have another link (‘more news’ ) that points to the other two twitters? I personally will never use the other two, and it would save an extra click. Log in to see images!
