Most Forums Pwned Leaderboard - Why don't we retire this leaderboard? | |||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
|
Currently Ricket is #1 on the most forums pwned leaderboard for months and I doubt he will stop playing ForumWarz. (This is not meant as an offense, he can’t do anything about it.) But it means nobody will top this leaderboard, so my question is: Why is there still a Most Forums Pwned Leaderboard? Currently the leaderboard is more like “Hey the #1 started playing FWZ earlier than you so that’s why you can’t top it.” Introducing Milestone E-Peens (250 Forums Pwned, 500 Forums Pwned, etc.) would be a better much idea because it’s atleast rewarding, unlike now. |

I think it’s time this idea was seriously entertained. That particular leaderboard seems very meaningless to me. |

Retiring the leaderboard is kind of pointless though.
It’s like, take a peen no one can get, and make it into a peen no one can get. Either way, no one is getting it. So who cares?
However, that being said, the forums pwned milestones is an awesome idea. There’s one for 100; it doesn’t make sense that it wouldn’t go beyond. |

this would be awesome, it would be keeping people on FWZ longer trying to get the milestone peens. |

Contrary to popular belief, I can’t play this game forever.
Anyway, removing a leaderboard because the leader’s commitment makes it impossible for others to top said board, is pretty terrible reasoning. |

Id like to see the Milestones. I can throw out a few names too.
This…is…FORUMWARZ: Player has pwned 300 forums (obvious reference, needs no explanation)
D-tard: Player has pwned 500 Forums (less obvious Reference, as D is the Roman Numeral for 500)
The 700 Club: Player pwned 700 forums (Religious show of same name)
Calling Collect: Player has pwned 800 forums
I missed a few, but im too tired to think of them. dobnits edited this message on 03/02/2009 12:48AM |

It’s not so much commitment, as the fact that forums per day are limited, so its impossible for you to be caught as long as you play normally? |

How is retiring the Leaderboard (meaning no one else can get it other than you and the 9 other people that got it before you) any different than if you continue to run your 4 visits a day, and maintain your lead, for the foreseeable future. That #1 position will only become available if you allow it to become available. Why is allowing that control to rest in your hands better than simply retiring it altogether?
Are you planning on ever giving up that #1 spot? If the answer is ‘No’, then there’s no reason to keep the Leaderboard active, and it should be retired and replaced with a Milestone-based award. If the answer is ‘Yes’, then I agree with you that we should keep it active.

I agree that is could be retired and think that Ricket should be proud of his accomplishment if it were retired instead of not wanting it retired. |

The same could be said about the Highest Buildr Score and Most Job Point boards. The fact that someone can, and has run away with a leaderboard, is not a good reason to retire it.
Wylin Posted: Honestly, I win either way. Either it’s retired and everyone who ever had any hope of topping me has their dreams smashed instantly, or I continue running away with the top place on this board, and dreams are smashed over the lifetime of my account, as people slowly realize that I’m a bastard who isn’t going to stop.
