OP said “gets shot” not “being shot” I’m not an English expert but I think that implies the use of firearms. Because you can’t say that and mean shot with a camera. Unless it was “gets a shot” I think…
also got tubmail from banhammer saying I have to put disclaimer. So I’m going to say that the thread wasn’t meant as a contest to bumbuminate Obama with BP as a prize, but rather free BP for everyone in the near impossible event that Obama got shot at during his inauguration (in celebration of global anarchy). also too bad no drama on inauguration day also lol Inertia edited this message on 01/21/2009 2:11AM |

I am reasonably confident that the OP’s grammar can be legitimately interpreted as meaning that if someone took a picture of Barack on Inauguration Day, you (Inertia) would give a BP each to everyone who posted in this thread. |

I’m not sure that’s referring to a film. Never saw it used that way. also notice that it said “gets shot of”. But whats the use of you arguing over that because I clearly meant a gunshot and everyone could see this. @MCB: I was banned? Well, at least it was falconfour that took the hit.
btw I wasn’t joking, if Obama did get shot during inauguration, I seriously would buy enough bp to give everyone here. |

Now that the contest is closed, let me elaborate slightly. Models and other people that are regularly photographed use the phrase ‘got shot’ to describe a photo-session. “I got the shot” “I shot her from multiple angles” “Go ahead and shoot”
All of these phrases are interchangeable between photography and firearms. I’ve worked in both fields for a long time. The phrasing is directly interchangeable. Add in the fact that if you were intending it to be ‘shot with a firearm’, it was a really tasteless premise for a contest, and this is why I decided to call you on it.
Just my $0.02. And since it was F4 that was screwing around anyways, that explains a lot. |
