It’s a government pamphlet, actually, so no worries on being sued. I thought I’d check it out for ideas for Forumbuildr, but it’s actually really… boring. Cool for historical context, though.

I don’t know. Maybe it’s not such a big deal. The book was published over 20 years ago and it’s already available in plaintext via Project Gutenberg.

This is just a hunch, but I bet if we did a good job of it (and you Forumbuildrs always do!) those bumociated with original would actually enjoy the homage and appreciate the new life it’s taken.

I didn’t read all the entries because my brain melted, but all I saw was a bunch of male reproductive organ jokes. No visible attempts to capture Douglas Adams style or wit. Perhaps there’s some irony there though.

Well I’ve tried to capture the essence of Douglas Adams in this forum. To be honest I think a few others have tried as well. I can bumure you that the actual people getting up votes are the people who are writing long paragraphs writing about the internet in general. Then again this was my idea and all things considered I could be a biased ****.

There were male reproductive organ jokes, and there were references to Douglas Adams’ bits, including dolphins and all that. Some good, some not so good. People ran the ‘42’ bit into the ground.

For my contributions, I tried to actually remember when I was a n00b. I had fun doing questions I had and what ‘wisdom’ I learned. Frex, yes, I really did wonder why I was getting male reproductive organ enlargement spam even though I was a woman. Log in to see images!
