Maybe. But my point is that mods ban somebody for a trolling post, while they let others go with a warning if they make an identical post. |

i dont see that ezek was warned in that topic
i mean it is possible that the mods just didn’t notice the trolly post which is understandable
that’s what the “report this post” bumon is for |

This post is trolling This post is not trolling it seems, while the line “Tch, most of you are ****es.” is actually trolling |

I’ve never really thought about it like that. Wouldn’t some of the boob threads count as CP if they have underage girls? If they’re going to crack down on it I guess they should start there. |

There are enough CP-related pics on forumwarz. Remember Drunkenlazybastard’s contest? Lots of underage people posted their genitalia there, yet none of them were banned for it. Nicco edited this message on 01/14/2009 10:28AM |

We do the best we can. And the lines, like it or not, are not carved in stone.
I’ve never banned for loli without first checking with ET, because honestly I have no idea what it is. And what’s sexual to one person may not be to another, especially in different countries. What’s on page 3 of The Sun in England wouldn’t be allowed in the National Enquirer in the US. So ET gets the final word, and even now he’s looking into seeing if the crime is better defined anywhere.
Similarly, what’s shock to one person isn’t necessarily shock to another. It’s ET’s site, so what he calls shock is shock, and what he doesn’t, isn’t. That’s selective, but unless you allow NO images, there will always be an ambiguous line. And on this site, people will constantly push the line.
Same deal with trolling. We get lots of reports about “trolling” and “RPing” when, to our eyes, the person making the report is often the instigator of said trolling event in the thread. Or there’s no actual trolling in our eyes. And the tone of the thread is taken into account. And the response of the “trolled”. And so on.
Modding on this site, where there ARE such ambiguities, will always be selective. If you don’t want to risk being banned, steer clear of anything which could be considered controversial.
Finally, yes, a lot of the times we don’t see something unless it’s reported. There are a lot of posts, and limited moderation (although it may sometimes seem otherwise). |

It sounds like Banhammer is advocating vigilante justice.
I’d like to offer a more conservative alternative to the wild and crazy, anything goes attitude by MC B. Mbumive deputization of certain Forumwarz players. This players will not be named, they will not be told who else is a deputy.
They won’t be able to move threads or edit thread subject lines. That would chaos. They can only ban.
I think 5,000-6,000 deputies would do the trick. |
