ITT: HOW TO HIDE **** WITHOUT STUPID ****ING PROGRAMS | |||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
|
For those of you that want to hide pron. Simply rename the video files to something innocuous and change the file extension to .bak. Then place this files in a hidden directory on your windows box. Build a playlist for VLC media player with the location of these files and you will be able to view them at will. I suggest hiding the playlist under CLog in to see images!\dogreat timesents and settings\Owner\Application Data\[YourNameHere]\
I did this for two years while sharing a computer with my ex-wife and she was none the wiser. Log in to see images!

TrueCrypt.
It actually encrypts your **** so that it is truly impossible to view it without the key. Anything else is just stashing it somewhere and hoping nobody spots it.

1338h4x Posted:This, plus the fact that TrueCrypt is ridiculously easy to use. Save all the encrypted **** as “favorite volumes” and then you can just run TrueCrypt, press Mount Favorite Volumes, enter the pbumword and access your encrypted files as if they were on a real disk drive. |

hmm, gee, i’m in ur hard drive innocently browzin ur computer… wats this i see, an encrypted file and truecrypt installed… that couldn’t possibly be resembling anything they’re trying to hide so i won’t even bother prying any further
— or —
hmm, a bak file that i didn’t actually even notice, because it’s littered amongst the thousands of other useless files windows throws all over the hard drive
which seems more like a likely situation? |

But no matter what, they can never tell what’s in it. And if you’re nerdy enough then it’s perfectly reasonable that you might have anything in there – cryptography is important for privacy.
Hell if you really want you can rename the truecrypt file to .bak or whatever. Whereas if they catch on to the previous methods, they’ll know precisely what sensitive data you’re hiding. Pbumwords in plaintext? Source codes to your most important projects? Your very long encryption keys for other stuff? ...Porn, you middle-aged virgins that are so paranoid you think you need to hide that ****?

1338h4x Posted:Yeah. This is much more secure than using the same pbumword for more than one website, and you still only need to remember one of the pbumwords (the one for the TrueCrypt file). You could even randomly generate all your pbumwords to be 10+ characters long, and copy/paste them from the encrypted file.
If someone sees that you have TrueCrypt installed it shouldn’t be too hard to lie about what’s in it. Even if you mess up and mention that you really do have child porn or whatever inside, they don’t have any evidence, because they can’t access the files.
