3: Save as locker.bat (can be anything else, but has to be .bat)

4: Open the .bat to create a folder called ‘Locker’

5: Put all your personal dox, n00dz or pr0n into this folder

6: Open the .bat again and lock your folder

7: If you want to unlock your files, double click the batch file again and you would be prompted for pbumword. Enter the pbumword and enjoy access to the folder.

Method 2: Fusion

Files may be merged without a script using the Windows command prompt.

1: Move the two files you wish to merge into the C: drive.

2: Open the command prompt using Start > Run and entering cmd

3: If your prompt does not look like CLog in to see images! then enter cd \

4: Enter “copy /b [filenameone.extension] + [filenametwo.extension] [outputfile.extension] to create the merged file outputfile.extension. By renaming the extension it alters the way the file behaves.

Also, Method 2 on Linux:

1: Open up a terminal and go the directory where both files are located.

2: Enter cat picture.jpg archive.rar > result.jpg

3: The resulting file will function as a jpg or rar, depending on what the extension is and/or which program is opening it.

All you’re doing is putting a file wrapper around archives. Obviously this is good enough to hide from parents looking to bust your porn stash or whathaveyou, but if that’s all you’re looking to thwart, then there’s much easier ways to do it. This is what we call security by obscurity, keeping **** hidden and hoping nobody finds it rather than actually protecting it.

If you’re actually concerned about keeping files completely secure so that even if someone mounts your HD in a live cd environment or whatever to have full access to everything, then you’re going to want to actually encrypt your ****. Truecrypt is a great utility for packing your files into an encrypted archive. This is what we call security by design.

edit: Also the phony pbumword protection in that first one is actually a huge mistake – all someone has to do is open it in a text editor rather than executing it and your ****ing pbumword is right there in plaintext. Good going idiot, hope you didn’t use anything you use elsewhere.

I don’t need any type of security but I have a question about this. If you merged a bunch of files together how are you going to get them back apart?

You won’t need to, it just makes a copy of file 1 and file 2 into file 3, files 1 and 2 will still be in the directory.

Most file formats start from the beginning of the file, but rars are weird and look at the tail end first. Thus by concatenating the jpg and rar you have a file that’s readable as a jpg from the beginning or readable as a rar from the end. All that matters is what you open it with, affecting where you start reading the file from.

But again, anyone wise to this trick can simply spot the unusually large filesize for a jpg and figure it out. This isn’t a good method of securing sensitive files at all.

The fusion method is usually for hiding .zips and .rars into image files. Of course if you wanted to you could delete files 1 and 2 and just be left with 3.

Yeah you said you were hiding things in the thread title, so leaving 1 and 2 sitting there wouldn’t do a very good job of that. Now, I was wondering if you merge some files together with your method, how do you get them back apart?
