I like the pbum option but there are sometimes I wish I could go back and review those that I pbumed on.

Bumpin’ dis ****, ‘cause the -5 elimination can hit damn hard. With the pbuming, I guess a new section of ones you’ve pbumed on could be made, and for general overflow, maybe a “stragglers” section for -5+(?!)ers.

There needs to be a pbum bumon though, so people won’t feel like they’ve not voted on one.

Well it’s been a while since I last looked at this thread and I still think this is a decent idea that’s worth a try

I actually think most submissions that get -5d as well as those that get into the forum are usually done rightly so, when it all boils down. Sometimes at the end of the week i look through my submissions (All of which i must have though were funny at the time) and I cant help but wonder why i did it in the first place. That has never been the case with anything that has ever gotten in. I still am able to get a laugh at my own jokes, even 8 to 10 weeks after the forum was made.

That being said, I do have problems with getting a -5 leads to automatic destruction. What I would like to see is maybe an automated “cleansing process” occur maybe 5 times over the course of the week and it clears out crappy non-logo submissions below -5. I have had submissions go -5 within an hour of the submissions starting then I resubmit a carbon copy Monday Afternoon and It has gotten into the forum. Something should be done.

Not a fan of downvoting, especially when it’s done to just eliminate competition for your own entry.

A problem with eliminating downvoting is that the forum in the lead will pull further and further ahead of all the others. This is because forums with more upvotes are weighted to appear slightly more frequently than others (at least this used to be true and I believe it still is). This means that the more forums there are to vote on and the more forums there are with low votes (and of course there would be many more of these with no downvoting), the more the forum in front will pull ahead. If that logic were changed so that each forum was equally likely to appear, that would lead to less skewed voting results. And then, the main problem with eliminating downvoting would be a possible glut of entries that few people would want to wade through. So, your forums may not be downvoted, but they might not receive many upvotes either if they’re sufficiently buried among other entries. I’m not against trying it to see, though.
