“The Thieving Magpie” – Rossini
Not exactly “very warlike,” but moreso than some of the other songs I’ve seen suggested |

You could try a few by Andreas Waldetoft – probably best fitting your requirements would be:
also A Cruce Victoria but the creschendo/climax thing happens about a minute before the end…

I’ve always liked Chopin myself, actually. I’m thinking his Scherzo no. 3 might work for your purposes.

#1 was used in 28 Days Later. This band should fit all of the technicalities you demand. |

.Clbumical
.Very Warlike
.Aggressive
.Absolutely must end in a dramatic crescendo
When I read that, the FIRST thing that popped to head was Flight of the Valkyries, I mean, Ride. However, the thing already in my head was Black Juju by Alice Cooper; and depending on when the novel is set, that might be considered ‘clbumical’. If anything, nowadays at least, it is only clbumic rock, not clbumic, it is very aggressive and warlike and ends in a spectacular reveal; a sinister recitation of the song’s title, up to that point, not uttered; perfect for the coup de grace. Of course, it does communicate a certain dark energy (Black Juju, well duh) so it may not be suitable. |

You should consider the 1812 Overture by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It’s about War; and it’s the only composition I know of that includes a CANNON as a musical instrument. |

Final Fantasy 8 opening theme, found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pZ2ibvZb2Q
I don’t know if it counts as “clbumic” but to me it sounds like something alike usual clbumical music ^^
NOTE: It also exists without the sound effects ^^ |
