I can’t be bothered to actually debate though. It’s getting a little too trolly. |

The Heisenberg Compensator is how the transporters work in the Star Trek universe. It’s just a tech-device to get around certain things. But we know it’s not real.
That’s all I’m saying. |

How are we certain a multiverse cannot be real, especially if legitimate scientific hypotheses explore its possibility?

I see your point.
But I have to hit the hay anyways. Tomorrow I’ll start posting stuff that will actualy make sense. |

DarkDespair5 Posted: Never said it couldn’t be. However, to presume that some would have different laws clearly rules out all interaction. If they have the same laws, I would think they’d be the “infinite possibilities” versions, where each decision we make is played out in different universes. And there’s still no way to have interaction.

Hobart Bliggity Posted: No it isn’t. Please prove that the universe is self-aware, given that awareness is a property only of certain living beings. For awareness requires life—anything to the contrary steals the concept.

So the universe is the source of the universe? How can something be its own source? |

The universe is the ground for everything. It is the ontological base. That you’re stuck in some Pythagorean hangover is not my problem, nor is it my concern. |

That you can’t handle thinking about the origin of the universe, which is the backbone of this debate, isn’t my problem either. |

That you beg the question that the universe had an origin is not my problem. That you think the universe had an origin is a meaningful concept shows your lack of critical thought and your desire to have a dual-realmist metaphysic.
I can counter everything you write by pointing out your fallacies. And yes: that is the proper way to have this discussion. |

So the universe is its own source, and circular logic is entirely appropiate here? Neat. I didn’t know that. Professor Falken edited this message on 12/14/2008 11:32AM |

Professor Falken Posted: The universe has no source. It necessarily exists. It is impossible for the universe to come into or go out of existence.
You might want to NOT use strawmen. kthx. |

Let’s approach this from a different angle:
Who creates the creator in the first place? There must already be a platform (universe) for anything to occur. DarkDespair5 edited this message on 12/14/2008 6:39PM |

And my dad can beat up your dad. We’re still no closer to an “answer” about God though.
You keep saying that any “God” with supernatural powers contradicts itself by definitoin. Please elaborate on this, as you’ve yet to explain further than “this is a contradiction.” |
