Anyone here design web sites? | |||||||

Does anyone here do HTML/CSS work?
I’m just curious as to how much someone would charge to design a web site to existing web standards (XHTML/CSS).
Say, three templates. A home page, an information page and a third page. |

I’ve done it in the past. HTML, JS, implementing (but not designing) CSS. |

So I’m guessing nobody here really does it professionally or can tell me typical rates? |

Well, this (now just a ghost town – see this page to get into the site to have a look around) and this are my own creations, but I don’t really do it “professionally”...
Seriously though, fwz already looks great. Hire whoever you hired to do this site. Waaait….
edit: Errr, I have custom styles disabled. The default style looks great. I forgot how much an eyesore the custom styles are. So yeah, the default style looks fine. Log in to see images! FalconFour edited this message on 11/17/2008 7:33PM |

i’ve been coding in PHP for about two months now and been meddling with RoR from time to time [i’m nuts about Ruby, but never had the time study it thoroughly]. i also know a fair amount of HTML/CSS and JavaScript. on the other hand, i suck at photoshop foo. so…
edit: should have read ET’s post carefully. the cost depends. some work cheaper than others.

I think you pretty much get what you pay for for site design. You can hire a bunch of people on the cheap, but it won’t look as good as someone who is more expensive…
Also, it depends on what you want exactly, like do you have everything you want in mind and would you supply the person with the pictures and stuff? Or would you just have general ideas that you wanted the designer to work with? That kind of stuff could effect the rate too I would guess
That being said, I have no idea what the going rates for website design are these days… sorry haha |

yeah. like i said, it depends. you could hire some HTMLmonkeys from india via your-favourite-freelancing-portal cost: -100 dolla’ (sucky sucky)
or you could hire some uber front-end developing hot-shots that **** XHTML 1.0 Strict websites on a daily basis and dream in css 5 hours per night cost: +500 dollars
look for anything in between. Physics edited this message on 11/19/2008 1:26PM |
