It’s pretty awesome to see it laid out and know that the back and forth thing won’t mess things up (it puts an interesting spin on being able to do top of the line jobs during every phase of a streak as long as you don’t do the same one twice in a row if I understand it correctly), but I still think I’m sticking with my pwn twice then straight down the line method. My brain is too dead right now to comprehend those charts, it is truly tl;dr for me right now. Perhaps I’ll try to read it after work.

Unless they did them alphabetically (that seems very awkward) or didn’t realize the steak was actually still going and just abandoned it. Probably didn’t realize and abandoned. I would have abandoned thinking the big streak was ended had I gotten a “4 in a row” notice. |

After 12 forums in a row (after the reset), I jumped back up to the next one I should have had when I got reset… so I went from 12 to 40. When I got to the levels I couldn’t beat on that particular alt (I didn’t level up before starting the run), I wondered about starting “over” and seeing if I could keep my streak going… which worked. I got all the way back through the ep1 forums (as far as Church again, actually) and got my streak up to 68. |

I think it must not be working right then, since it hasn’t at all done this for me ever. Any time I accidentally redid a forum it entirely reset my streak.
This is confusing ET, are you trying to troll us or something? |

This is a pretty bizarre algorithm for something that you’d expect to be a simple x-unique-in-a-row. Kind of misleading really. I can sort of follow it on a small scale, but I can’t figure out how a lot of oddities, such as how you just mentioned 4 in a row then 8 two visits later, are supposed to arise. Banhammer’s suggestion is basically what everyone bumumed happens, and I’d recommend switching to that. |

The whole thing that remains unclear (which is remarkable, actually), is if you hit the same forum twice but not in a row does a streak reset? If not, when does it? Going back to OP – when does everything in the 4-row chart column go back to all nos? |

I don’t think it does unless you die or do the same one twice in a row. I think you need to take a deliberate action to reset it. |

I just want to know how to get it to work so I can use it to get more scoops than I am supposed to be able to get. I’ve gotten like 4 and then 16 a few visits later. How can I do this not by accident? |

Those charts look kind of confusing. Like they’d take a bit of effort to comprehend. I’ll just go back to not questioning my scoop streaks and believing the site runs on sunshine, magic, and rainbows. |

I like that the algorithm doesn’t punish me for re-pwning a forum from earlier in the list. I wish I’d known. However, I’m thinking this is going to seriously cheapen some ePeen. |

Thank you, Evil Trout, for considerably re-complicating that which people were damn near done trying to understand. You’ve successfully managed to create 2 (maybe now 3) pages of additional discussion about what may just be an accidental typo. And since you never log in except for maybe five minutes a day, we all just sit here stroking our male reproductive organs trying to figure out which forum to pwn next to make streaks work right.
