What rules does Gamble-Bot 3000 use for Blackjack? | |||||||

I’d like to know what rules it uses. # of decks? Dealer Stands on Soft 17? Dealer Hits Soft 17? No Surrender? Late Surrender? Early Surrender? Dealer peeks? (US style) No peek? (European style)
And it really needs a Double Down feature. |

And when does it shuffle? After each hand, or as it gets to a cut card? |

I bet it just randomly picks a bunch of cards, I mean, seriously
as a side note why can’t I bet, oh I don’t know, 100 or 200 or whatnot instead of this huge gap between 50 and 1000? It just makes things tedious. HAIL SATIN edited this message on 01/02/2008 2:44PM |

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a huge gambler — he was mainly put in as a fun gimmick that has been enhanced over time. I’m sure I will add more enhancements over time, but it’s unlikely that he’ll ever be a really great gambling simulator Log in to see images! After all, it takes place in an IM window!
I’ve said before that I will implement double down and I still intend to.
Now, your answers:
There is one deck per hand. It is not actually shuffled, it picks a random unused card every time it needs one.
The dealer hits on everything below 17, regardless of whether it is soft.
If you get blackjack you get 1.5 times your bet. If you tie you get your money back. If you lose Gamble-bot keeps your bet.
It’s pretty much as simple as that, not sure what surrender and stuff means :S

Oh, this will probably be coming soon. 1000 was added more as a joke than anything else to help people end up on the worst gamblers leaderboard. Now there’s a lot more high rollers and I can’t think of a reason not to do it.
As an aside, once Forumwarz domination launches, if you win a 1000FL bet you get a special point Log in to see images! |

Well, there go my hopes of card-counting to beat it. Not that I’m complaining, mind you; this isn’t Whiny ****es. And as a fun thing to do, it succeeds.
Surrender is an option to get back half of your bet and not play the hand out. I think most casinos only allow it versus a dealer’s Ace.

I finally added in doubling down. Since I’m no gambler I hope I got it right Log in to see images! |

Another bug (eww!)
I played a game of BlackJack against Gamblebot. I had 10, it was showing 5, so I doubled down. When I lost (stupid bot), it said “You have xxx”, but I actually had xxx-1000; it didn’t display the double in the message. It did correctly subtract it from my total, but since you can’t see your total until you get out of the bot, the erroneous message could lead to unintentional bad choices. |
