Again, humor being subjective is no proof of cheating.

To me, the one you have problems with is just fine and clever, and probably would’ve gotten an upvote from me if I were voting this week.

I looked up that particular item:

It had 100 votes from 97 unique IPs (you could argue that one guy might have voted with three illegal alts, but it’s also highly possible it’s people who share an internet connection. Also at post that would be 2 extra votes.)

In terms of Klan voting, it got positive votes from people in 18 different Klans. One Klan voted it up 10 times, but that Klan was particularaly big, and the person who submitted the item in the first place isn’t even a member of them!

This is another one of those areas of the site where people constantly accuse of cheating and it’s very rarely true. Just because you find something funny doesn’t mean someone else will. I think in the entire lifetime of ForumBuildr, I have only identified 2 occurrences with blatant cheating.

The rest of the time it’s just sour grapes.

Uh, you’re dumb.

At almost every ISP, people are bound to the same IP for long periods of time. Maybe you’re at one of the lucky ones where every time you reboot your modem you get a different one, but even then it’s a limited pool.

Not to mention, they’d all have the same first three bytes, and the IPs in the voting list have a random distribution.

But uh, way to hack the site there!

Like I said, even if you can change your IP that way, it would still be in the same subnet like xxx.xxx.xxx.yyy, in other words, only a very small part of it would change. And the IPs I saw in the voting logs were randomly distributed.
