Also when I used to have a working mic I could only record 30 seconds at a time. Where can I get software to record more?

Audacity is a good free program, only your hard drive limits recording capacity. Also, if you have a webcam that can record directly to the computer, it should have audio capabilities. Otherwise use a cheap digital video camera. Mine was $60 US at wal mart. |
