stuck at the trap chamber, I can’t throw the arm, I have put black liquid inside the pill bottle (thought I could use it as ink to note tile tiles down) any hints?

I’m stuck in the trap room. I get that I need to get the cleaning robot to come out, roll over the black liquid I dropped on the ground, and then show me the path I need to take. The problem is, I can’t get the robot to come out. Some people in this thread have implied I need a severed arm, but I don’t have one, and I searched all over the island, but I can’t find one. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
