Magic Duel – A free to play web browser game, that’s part RP, part PvP, part puzzle solving. You fight via creatures that you buy during the game – leveling them up to create powerful rituals to fight NPCs and other players. But the author has this system that you have to maintain a sense of balance to get the most out of your PvP wins, so you have to create rituals to lose just as often as you win, or trade wins and loses with other people. Character levels are represented by mind power, where you get to replay the game but wind up with access to more parts of the game each time. |

I was also going to suggest The White Chamber, but I was beaten to it.
Takeshi no Chosenjo is something I still need to attempt to play at some stage. Mostly because it’s a game that was deliberately created to be really really bad.
The original Clock Tower for the SNES was an interesting diversion for me.
Elvira creeped me out when I was younger. Some of the death scenes in that game were pretty graphic for a 1990-era game. It’s just a pity that it’s so difficult to track that game down. Log in to see images! |

Play the arcade version with MAME. It’s crazier than the console version. |

Reposting one of the links I submitted in crayon’s thread because I am unoriginal.
Gun Mute: http://spacecatrocketship.blogspot.com/2008/03/gun-mute-download-now.html “The desert sand squirms beneath your feet, alive with mutant nanomachines. Sheriff Clayton has Elias. He’s hanging him at noon. It looks like you’re going to have to shoot some people.”
A text adventure shoot ‘em up. The only directions you can go in are “forward” and “backward”, the only item you have is a six shooter, and all the puzzles in it can be solved by shooting things. Also: Best ending ever. |

Well, sorry for trying to point out what I thought to be an interesting link. I shall refrain from posting links now because obviously everyone has already seen it.
I bid you good day, sir. |

Hi, people post things for the benefit of others—not just specifically you. No one is interested in whether you have already seen it or not. |

I’ve been playing this game called “rapelz”. It’s not weird or interesting but it’s a pretty solid mmorpg that is completely free. It’s a hybrid of WoW and Guild wars but slightly better than either in certain ways. |

I have all three of those games on a cover disk from PC format. Since the male reproductive organ was titled ‘200 best freeware’ games, these are all a pretty good bet.
As another recommendation, try the half-life 1 expansions, if you haven’t already.

Klonoa or Klonoa 2. Both are real video games, and they’re both great games.
What’s so weird about them is that, despite the adorable main character of the game, the story becomes very serious, and sometimes even a little creepy. |
