I have mixed feelings. They got me into harder music, but when I started exploring that, I found a whole world of stuff that’s way better imo. |

I’m originally from Cleveland so Slipknot will always be a Mushroomhead ripoff in my opinion. I realize the music is different between the bands, but the image behind both bands seems like almost to big of a similarity to be a coincidence.
Musically I like virtually everything off the self-titled, IOWA was alright and then it seemed like everything kind of went down hill. M.F.K.R. was ok too but that was never a major release. |

IOWA is their only good album.
I can’t even say they got me into metal; Fear Factory are responsible for that…
Their new album is TERRIBLE. The most boring, generic metalcore I’ve ever heard. The only good thing about it is Joey’s drumming. |

I was obsessed when I was like 15 or so. Not so much any more, at all, though I do find it funny to pop in the self-titled on occasion to **** off friends. |

Anyway – I wasn’t a huge fan before Subliminal Verses, but I did enjoy that album and All Hope is Gone. As a Tele player myself, Jim Root is one of my favorite guitarists. |

Their last two albums sort of make me feel a bit lost; I don’t hear a lot of sampling or turntable work in their songs, and there’s a breakdown in the new album which I didn’t really get either… but think of it this way, they’re paid a lot more money than I am to make music a lot of people enjoy, so they must be doing something right. |
