So I’m tempted to add ringtones to my cell phone, but I don’t cherish the idea of paying 3-4 bucks for every 30 seconds, especially when I might change my mind as to what I want to hear. I see sites which ostensibly offer free ring tones but they all want to sign me up to a service. That’s not “free”. And I’m nervous about just giving my cell number to just any old site as I’m sure it’s to be followed by much cell phone text message spam, and I don’t want to pay 20 cents/spam.

So, is there anywhere to get truly free (including spam-free) ringtones?

I can make some custom ringtones for you, all you’d have to do is download them to your phone. =]

yeah they can. you may have to email a file to your phone then save it as a ringtone, but most of verizon’s phones will do it these days.

I used this originally but completely forgot about it. My phones 5 years old, but like Banhammer, it suits my needs just fine.

I seriously don’t understand the people who have owned all 3 iPhones. Hell, the people who have had 2 of them are crazy in my books.

Which is why it’s completely stupid to pay for ringtones. Hell, mine’s always on Vibrate/Silent anyway.

How much memory does your phone have? If it’s a reasonable amount, you should be able to upload whole/snippets of songs, like others have said.

Mine has about 8 MBs, which is patently bull****, but I digress.
